Whatever Far Cry game followed on from Far Cry 3 had some very big shoes to fill, but Far Cry 4 put in one heck of a solid effort. If you are a fan of the series then Far Cry 4 is offering more of the same, but that is not always a bad thing.

Welcome To Kyrat
The first thing that really captures your attention when it comes to Far Cry 4 is how amazing this large open world is. Kyrat is set in the Himalayas and as a result, the people at Ubisoft have been able to have some real fun with their world design and because of this, they have crafted one of the most lush, interesting and in some cases bizarre open worlds that the whole Far Cry franchise has ever seen.
Pagan Min who is the ruler, dictator or whatever you want to call him of Kyrat is a pretty awesome villain. Far Cry has had some great villains over the years and Pagan Min stands out as one of the best that the series has ever had. He is pretty charismatic, but he also has a psycho edge about him too.
I Am Here For My Parents
The person that you will be playing as in Fry Cry 4 is Ajay Ghale. He is an American who has gone to Kyrat in order to put his mother’s ashes to rest. You see his parents were Kyrat freedom fighters who were trying to take away the power of Pagan Min. The story is actually very interesting and you can actually really relate to the feelings that Ajay has.As good as the story of Far Cry 4 is, Ajay Ghale is not the most interesting of protagonists. He is not bad or anything like that. It is just you care more about the fight he is fighting than him as a person. The story is pretty wild and even has some supernatural elements which are explored more in the multiplayer.
Do What You Gotta Do!
Far Cry 4 is a large open world game and there is so much to do. Like in Far Cry 3 you will need to overthrow various enemy outposts (towers) and this is just so much fun to do. It is actually a lot harder than it was in Far Cry 3 as the enemy AI is a lot more aggressive. You are free to go about clearing out enemy outposts and doing the other missions any way that you please.Sometimes it can be fun just to go in all guns blazing and seeing what happens. Far Cry 4 though will punish you in some cases for doing this. Sometimes the numbers are just far too great and you will have to be more sneaky and stealthy with your approach. Enemies are not shy about calling in reinforcements so if you can get in and get out before they do this it will make things a lot easier for you.
Friend vs Friend
There is a pretty fun 5 vs 5 multiplayer mode in Far Cry. You play as two warring sides. The Golden Path play pretty much like the standard way you play Far Cry. The real fun though is when you play as The Rakshasa who can use more supernatural abilities and have a love for using arrows. As a side mode, Far Cry 5’s multiplayer is actually a lot of fun and it would have been interesting to see how far Ubisoft could have taken this.
Far Cry 4 is a really solid entry into the series. The story is a lot of fun and the large open world of Kyrat and its crazed leader keep you very interested in what is going on and if you start the story, you will really want to stick it out and play it until the end. It is easy to mock games that come out on a frequent basis, but Far Cry 4 clearly had a lot of love and time put into it. Plus, Far Cry 4 can be picked up dirt cheap these days so there is no excuse not to have this in your collection.
