Range Rover Charging System Fault

Dash board notice came on CHARGING SYSTEM FAULT. Land River Range Rover 2010. What should I do. Should I drive the vehicle? I am less than 1 mile from home. Mechanic's Assistant: How long has this been going on? Just came on this morning when I got to work and started it again later to go home. Tried several times and same message came up.

Hi,

  • This has to be one of the biggest complains of L322 owners, there are several causes: Insufficient capacity battery – the Range Rover needs a big powerful battery. The manual specifies 110Ah, not just to crank the engine but also to allow for reasonable discharge when the car isn’t in use. Solution – replace the battery with the correct.

  • Land Rovers don;t like bad batteries! When your battery is on its way out it will not be providing the car with the proper voltage and your LR3 or Range Rove.
  • Via the charging port indicators. Via the charging cable indicators. A failure to charge could be caused by: A vehicle battery fault. A high voltage cooling system fault. A fault with the electricity supply to the vehicle. This list is not exhaustive. If the vehicle fails to charge, contact a retailer/authorised repairer.

i have this rangerover sport l…km) with problem on the 12v charging system.

thanks

I can't find much info on this vehicle. I don't think they sold it here in the US. I believe it has a ZF mild-hybrid transmission with the hybrid battery mounted somewhere in the floor. P0B3C is indicating an issue with one of the voltage sensors for the high voltage battery. What are the vehicle symptoms? You indicated there is a 12 volt charging problem. I don't know this for a fact but the…

Ive seen something similar on a Jaguar F-type with auto start/stop, turned out that the relay switching center for the 2ndary battery, used to isolate voltage spike thru electrical components during a start event, had slightly loose cable connections. May have nothing to do with this vehicle, but I thought I'd throw it out there since I imagine this vehicle has auto start events and may have a…

The secondary battery is for the start/stop system. It is located in the right rear of the load space area. See the attached file for a brief explanation of the system. It is possible you just have a failing secondary battery.

Hi, have you solve the problem? I have the same dtc.P0B3C-62 Hybrid Battery Voltage Sense A Circuit Range/Performance - Signal compare failure Hybrid electric vehicle battery pack internal failure - Difference between cell supervisor circuit module voltage and cell supervisor circuit sum of cells is greater than a calibratable threshold P0B3C-04 Hybrid Battery Voltage Sense A Circuit…

Charging System Fault
I had the RR Evoque since new. It has 27,200 miles. I had replaced the original battery 17 months ago with a NAPA AGM perfect fit battery for the Evoque. Now after 17 months the battery has died again and it was still under warranty so I got a replacement NAPA AGM battery.
After installing the new battery the car starts right away except now I have a Charging system fault warning and a washer fluid warning. I topped up the washer fluid but still get the message. I tested the battery it was at 12.7 volts before starting first thing in the morning after sitting all night. I then started the Evoque and when the A/C was on and all the lights on at idle it charges at 14.02 volts.
What else could be wrong?
Here is what the dealer had to say when I asked about the software update.
'In regards to your question, first I thank you for providing me the complete VIN as this is what I would need to research any and all open campaigns for this particular vehicle. Remember that when reading information online it gives you information in general and not specific to your vehicle.
For your vehicle specifically, I have checked the Land Rover system and see that there is only one open campaign which we will need to schedule. The campaign is for the Supplementary Restraint System warning lamp on, even if this lamp is not on at the time we will need to update the vehicle software for this concern.
In reference to the battery concern, it is highly recommended to use OEM battery or in your case you may also use compatible AC Delco. The thing is that prior to installing the battery it should be fully charged and the CCA should match the original (700-850CCA) as the vehicle is equipped with many electronics that need a battery that has good status charge and full-voltage.
The vehicle battery does not need to be registered with vehicle ECM as you have asked.'
My Question:
I have been reading about the Evogue and get different answers from a software update to drive it and that will go away. Any ideas?

You may need to have the Battery Management System reset.
A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside my 1996 Defender 90 TDi300
